It's an old car so it's cheap, but Golf engines go on and on and on and on.

Had two now and never had a major expense, just lots of little costs associated with a car of this age.

No-ones ever broken in, but all it's got are door locks and steering lock. Waddya want? An immobiliser!

Head gasket went on both. Carburettor tends to get dirty.

Linkage between throttle cable and pedal broke on both. Very disconcerting when driving!
