Value
Overpriced and overrated for what they offer. Stingy equipment levels compared to other companies, ie. Ford.
Costs
Generally reasonable, though some parts are expensive.

Good handling and quite responsive, even on 1.3 version.
Performance
1.3 model is slow and underpowered. Choose a 1.6 or better for decent performance - it's a heavy car for its size.

Reliability
Very reliable if properly maintained, though not as good as some suggest. Particularly weak on fuel pump - built like a tank.

Mk2 lesser models look stodgy and dated now. GTi still turns heads.
Comfort
Generally comfortable due to build quality, but a firm ride.

Poor. No immobilisers or deadlocks, but most tempting to steal are GTi versions.

Did a lot af waiting around for silly little parts.

I found engine was a little iffy to work on - buy a used Ford instead!
