10/10 for value but having received the car for free I would say that.
Costs
Taking your car to a VW dealership should come with a health warning. My advice is find a mechanic you trust and the price of repairs / parts will always be reasonable.

Good solid steering, a sound chassis, not the fastest car but then what do you expect for a 1.6.
Performance
I've driven this 15 year old little beauty at silly speeds to work and back daily and it's still going strong.

The car has now done over a quarter of a million miles, German engineering never ceases to amaze me.
