What does this car say about you?

That after spending money on newer but inferior cars, its sometime better to buy a better quality one for the same price but older.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They like the cars suprising torque, power and economy. Looks wise they thinks its ok, nice and solid but nothing spectacular.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes I would but possibly with a better trim level with more gadgets and creature comforts

Did you get a good deal and why?

Yes, I traded it as a straight swap for a 1.4 Renault Megane, which was a pig of car with countless problems, managed to get rid before it was Out Of Warranty.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Had an renault megane which was unreliable, slow and poor on petrol. This was a cheap, economic alternative with a bit more ooomph and supposed reputation.

What was the dealer like?

Decent enough although not sure what after service would be like as I have never had to take the car back with any issues!!

What's it like to drive?

Lots of torque, excellent for overtaking. At its most spritley in in 2nd and 3rd gear. You can be lazy with gearing to leaving it in 5th at 30 and it will still pull. Handling isnt the best but still good enough for the average drive, dont expect sports car handling. The gearbox is loose and smooth although mine has recently become a little notchy but probably just needs some fresh gearbox oil. The engine can sound loud when accelerating hard in 2nd and 3rd when pushed but normal driving its quiet and smooth enough. Motorway cruising is great as it sits at below 3000rpm so is nice and quiet

Easy. is a basic shape with good visability

Have you had any problems with the car?

Nothing major has gone wrong. Had a brake light and a headlight replaced which is pennys. Wiper mechanism squeaked which has been sorted with a bit of lube. (The car has done 118k now so these niggles are to be expected) I have replaced the alloys on the car which resulted in vibrations through the steering wheel but all needed was a wheel balance. On service rear pads and discs needed replacing - again no grumbles in a high mileage car. The engine is absolutley rock solid and interior build quality is decent although seats and steering wheel are not as good as higher spec gti models

What's most practical about your car?

Good visability, economical, plenty of power - reliable so far.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Getting the engine remapped up to 145bhp, goes like a rocket with bags of torque. Also had an aftermarket ipod stereo fitted which is great. Blue and red dash lighting looks great at night.
