In their own words

Bought the car as an approved used VW, sight unseen as the car was at another dealer. Delivery took 3 weeks and when it did arrive the drivers door was misaligned and showed signs of repair.
Took a stand up argument with the sales manager before he would accept the car was not up to standard, and then two visits to the bodyshop before the door was right.
I later noticed that water was collecting somewhere in the door when it rained and dribbling out when I moved the car.
Ride was harsh, automatic gearbox was jerky and hesitant when moving off. It sometimes seemed to need a second or so to think which gear it should have been in at a road junction which didn't inspire confidence.
A VW press release claims the cam belt is good for the life of the engine. VW dealers seem doubtful of this and recommend replacement after 5 years.
