Yes. I like the new Tdi with DSG. it fulfills all my requrements.

What are you likely to buy next?

Another Tiguan, although i'd love a Toureg or Porsche Cayenne diesel if i could afford it.

Did you get a good deal and why?

Yes, i got some discount. the dealer matched another dealer's price.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Wanted something able to carry passengers and luggage. wanted somethng more rugged than an estate with 4 wheel drive for our dirt roads. it had to be economical (diesel) and have an auto gearbox.

What was the dealer like?

Well treated by the dealer. he went out of his way to source the car with all the accesories i wanted. the showroom was small without a model of a Tiguan present. there was no pressure and he was quick to get a quote back to me. Some dealers didn't bother to come back to me.

What's it like to drive?

Autobox is very smooth. Torque from the diesel is great and it cruises very easily, with good economy. i average about 35mpg with a mixture of town and motorway driving. Acceleration easily keeps up with city traffic and I've never felt like i need more power. Suspension is firm and it handles well.

What's it like to park?

Easy. It has a good turning circle, and I have park distance control at the rear. Rear visibility is poor in these high cars and it makes it a pleasure to park.

Have you had any problems with the car?

I call it my ping pong car. the air-conditioner emits a foul smell when initially switched on - this lasts about 1-2 minutes and then clears. Every now and again a warning "pings" when i swith on. it seems to come from the electronic handbrake. Whenever it goes into the dealership it doesn't do it, but does when i get the car back. No major faults att all though.

What's most practical about your car?

Roomy enough for my needs. the doors are well sealed and keep the dust out. Economical with plenty of power.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Love the quality of the on-board computer - very informative!
