What does this car say about you?
I like to be different, and this is not a car for the conservatively minded. It is very striking looking, but stylish with it (unlike the Civic I tried).
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Everyone has an opinion it, some don't like the looks (they drive things like the Astra and Focus so this would be far too daring for them!) while others love the styling. However all of them love it when they are in it. The seats are just sooo good and the layout is so logical.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes, based on experience so far.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
I wanted a smaller car than I used to drive (Passat) as I simply din't need a big car and I wanted something more interesting. The C30 is simply superb to drive. It is quiet (very smooth for a diesel) and suprisingly quick. Handling is excellent with virtually body roll and more feedback through the steering than the reviewers suggested. MPG is around 45 currently. I expect that to improve as the engine loosnes up.
What's it like to park?
Suprisingly easy to park. Rear visibility is very good through the big rear screen. Optional rear sensors make it a complete doddle.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nothing, but it is early days yet. However, Volvo generally have excellent reliability.
What's most practical about your car?
Practically had better not be a major thoguht if you go for one of these cars. Boot is not big, but it suffices for me. Interior space is excellent though, but the passenger glovebox is comically small.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
The sound system. I have the "performance sound" system in the car (£300 option). This gives you a 4x 40w rms system and it sounds good! Plays cd's, mp3's and wma files. You also get an aux input to hook up your mp3 player.
