Volvo XC60 (2023) review

Want to know everything there is to know about this car?

In their own words

The car looks very stylish and being a Volvo oozes safety. Everything feels solidly built and provision for the comfort of the driver and passengers has been well thought through. There is ample storage provision for everyone's requirements and the cup holders are well positioned too. All controls are readily to hand, with a large touch screen which displays a vast amount of information as and when required. Driving with the sunroof open at speed creates quite a lot of noise, but it isn't unbearable. The air conditioning system is excellent and the defrosting and/or demisting of the windows and mirrors is suitable quick. The engine with its eight speed gear box means it is always very quiet inside the cockpit, yet when you need the power it is always available. The car comes into its own on long motorway cruises, when driving is effortless, while keeping up with the rigours of city driving without any problem too. The rear seats split 60/40 and there is a neat hatch through the rear armrest for carrying long items without having to fold the rear seats. The luggage space is ample and the air suspension can be lowered to allow awkward or heavy items to be loaded effortlessly. Perhaps a minor irritation is that when the Ad-Blue tank is being refilled, the display on the screen doesn't react very quickly and it is very easy to overfill the tank, but that is a point you have to take into consideration. In conclusion, it has been an excellent vehicle in over 20,000 miles of effortless driving, very comfortable and definitely worth the money paid. Volvo Customer Service is excellent too. Would more than consider replacing with an equivalent of the same model in the future. Overall, a five star rating for this vehicle.

How reliable do you find the car?

Had two recall letters, but after contact with the Dealer was told they weren't serious and could wait until the annual service.

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

Lovely car to drive, especially on a long run. Very comfortable, and the seats provide excellent support. When you get tired, the massage facility is a real bonus! The vehicle wasn't fitted with adaptive cruise control, which would have been a benefit, particularly in busy motorway conditions, but normal cruise control is perfectly acceptable.
