Hyundai Coupe 1996-

Want to know everything there is to know about this car?

  • Economy

    Value

    4 out of 5 4.0

Externally: looks are great. Internal: poor, simply because the plastic is all over the place.

    Costs

    4 out of 5 4.0

Bodywork can cost, the rest is good. MPG is good, even after a little 'quick' drive to work.

  • On the road

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

A true sportscar drive, the road holding isn't too shabby. The body does 'flex', so strut braces will help hold the corners at higher speeds. Straight-line stuff, it can stand proud in the crowd. No Autos please, stick shift is a must.

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

A small car, which really does give the performance you'd normally expect from larger pricey sports models. 0-60 could (and can) be improved.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    5 out of 5 5.0

Nothing. Tyres, engine, all age as you'd expect.

    Image

    4 out of 5 4.0

The 2.0 really needs to be bought - the 1.6 is nice, but hasn't got it where is counts. MK2 is far better looking than the new MK3. MK2 has all the same figures as the MK3, MK3 has a 2.7, MK2.0 is faster! Go figure?

    Comfort

    3 out of 5 3.0

It has a sportscar ride and feel... but it's not too hard on your 'seat' or your back.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    3 out of 5 3.0

Alarm...! It's got one? Ok, if you say so.

    Service

    4 out of 5 4.0

So far so good, the car has been looked after and they are fast to repair.

  • Problems and Ownership

    Problems

    Engine

When you start the car, it's smooth and quiet. When you run the car, the engine, outside is quiet, inside the power of the engine car be heard.

    Other

It has a boot that is a surprise - kids need to be small for the back seat! No kidding!

    Ownership

Did you buy the car new?

    Used

Would you buy the same model again?

    Yes

Did you buy from the same manufacturer again?

    No
