In their own words

I was a bit sceptical about buying a electric car so I decided to lease the Hyundai Ioniq for two years knowing that if I did not get on with it I would only have it for two years. Right from the start l was amazed just how good this car is, it’s comfortable, very nice to drive and above all by charging it over night it’s incredibly cheap to run. Some reviews that I read before hand criticised its power and exceleration, obviously these reviews were from petrol heads because the Ioniq has 4 driving modes, normal, eco, eco +, and sport, if you need to get a shift on the sport mode is ample, the press of a button on the centre console and its away, ok its no hot hatch but in today’s driving conditions it’s just the job. Road handling is more than adequate, it holds it’s line nicely and cornering is stable, the steering is in my view neutral, due to the weight of the batteries the car feels quite well planted although some pot holes do resonate in the cabin. The interior is well laid out with quite a quality feel, the information display has more than you need but quite intuitive although it takes time to get your head around some of the more technical stuff but every day driving is a breeze. I look forward to driving now which before was not so much the case. I won’t be going back to driving a petrol car any time soon.
