Hyundai Ioniq review (2022)

Want to know everything there is to know about this car?

In their own words

As a taxi driver, the MPG and running costs are the most important aspect, they effect your take home wage. Then comes Reliability and Comfort and road holding. My Ioniq Hybrid, can achieve 80+ MPG, but I would have to drive it to slowly to earn a living. It can get as low as 50MPG, but no one would want to be a passenger in one driven this recklessly. Driven carefully but quickly enough to earn a living it is not hard to get 70+MPG. The safety features are very very good, better than in any other Hybrid of this cost and size. The sound system is also up to the job and does everything I want it too. It is not a Ferrari but driven sensibly it is as safe and sure footed as any car I have driven, which are many. The only thing I could wish for is an estate version. At 102,000 miles I am confident it will get to 200,000+ miles and more. such is the wear and tear so far, if it gets to 300,000 then I will be very happy indeed, by that time I hope the Electric version will have a range of 350+ miles and I will get one of those. I was a little apprehensive when I bought it, by way of recommendation from many of my Taxi Driver Colleagues, but now I have driven it as a Taxi I am very glad that I did. If you want a Hybrid, get this one, my partner has a Prius with 93,000 on the clock and hers is not anywhere near as nice to live in, her doors shut like they are made from tin, with very little sound deadening, and the repairs we have had to have done on it are very disappointing, both cars have full service histories, so it is easy to compare them. What more is there to say, it is cheap to run. It is not a racing car but is as quick as a normal person needs it to be. The build quality is very high. And the reliability is very good. I will get another when this one has been used up.
