• Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

Prepared to try a 'less mainstream' option.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Are generally quite surprised it cost less than a Golf.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Probably yes, or something very similar. Servicing is a little pricey but 20k intervals handy for my high mileage and it ticks all the boxes for family transport.

What are you likely to buy next?

    Certainly an SUV.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchised

Did you buy this car new?

    Yes

    What price did you pay?

    £18,000

When did you buy the car?

    September 2010

Did you get a good deal and why?

I got a better than expected price for my part exchange. The iX35 was new to the market at the time so supply was scarce and no discounts were to be had but overall feel that I got a fair deal.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

5 year warranty, large boot, higher ride height.

    What was the dealer like?

Ok to deal with although I had pretty much decided I wanted this model of car and had done some research beforehand so it was more a case of sourcing the car and agreeing a deal.

    What's it like to drive?

2 litre diesel seems just right for the car, pulls along smoothly with plenty of mid range grunt, nice to drive on the motorway. Rolls a bit around the corners but not a bad trade off for the higher ride.

    What's it like to park?

Not too bad, the car isn't actually as big as it looks. Higher seating position does aid parking although the standard reversing sensors do help.

Have you had any problems with the car?

New drivers seat (squeaky), new o/s headlight (mis-aligned), both replaced under warranty.

Loads of room inside and a large boot.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

    USB socket for music.
