  • Summary

    2 out of 5 2.0

What does this car say about you?

I'm different and appreciate a bit of class.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

It looks nice, black with shiny chrome and big alloys.

Would you buy this car again and why?

No, no , no. High running costs, poor paintwork, poor servicing intervals, unhelpful dealers. It could have been a great car but there are too many design problems. Eg a cup holder behind the gear stick which means you struggle to change gear if you have a cup in there.

What are you likely to buy next?

    January 2012

Did you get a good deal and why?

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Because it was supposed to be reliable.

    What was the dealer like?

  • Driving it

    What's it like to drive?

On motorways, first class, knocking about it is poor. 6th gear is a compete waste of time unless you want to go over 100mph. When slowing down at a junction 2nd gear is awful, you have to shift down to 1st. There is too much turbo lag, so much so it is dangerous. The mpg is shocking. For over 2 and a half years I have tried every combination of driving and can not better 35 mpg on a motorway run or 30mpg short trips.

    What's it like to park?

Easy, the reversing camera system is superb.

  • Living with it

    2 out of 5 2.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Constant knocking from front suspension, grinding noise and juddering from steering column when parking. Lexus could not find out what these problems were.

What's most practical about your car?

    Nothing, it isn't really practical.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Touch screen nav / car control dvd system.
