Want to know everything there is to know about this car?

In their own words

Love this car!! Takes off like a scalded cat even in eco mode. Shouldn't do it but often leave much more powerful ice cars in the dust because of its instant acceleration. Costs absolute peanuts to run even with electricity going through the roof it is only about 40% of what it would cost to run an equivalent ice. Insurance is slightly higher than equiv ice but only because the insurance industry has not as yet caught up with modern thinking. It's also something of a "Q" car i.e. people don't realise it's fully electric which to my mind is a plus. The motoring press belittles the MG5 EV as being faceless and "dowdy" but this is just anti-affordable-ish rhetoric. Both in exterior and interior looks and quality it is not the epitome of ultra stylishness but if you want that, fleeting as it is, then you'll have to pay a fistful more and do you really have such low self esteem that you want that? All electric cars are currently grossly overpriced. This will eventually even out. Early adopters are always penalised by the manufacturers. If you can afford an electric car then an MG should be on your "to seriously consider list".

How reliable do you find the car?

Had it just over a year now and absolutely no problems. Infotainment and satnav can be a little slow to load up but as it has android auto, which I use in preference to the in-car systems, this is not a problem.

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

It is so effortless to drive, surprises many a more powerful ice car with its spriteliness and costs absolute peanuts to run! With the pretty good range, I generally get around 200 miles to a full battery, and the rapidly improving public charging infrastructure I have absolutely no range anxiety and am very happy to take it on longer trips around the country. As an electric car you obviously do need to plan your longer journeys methodically but as something of a nerd I find this both challenging and rewarding.
