In their own words

I bought the car as I needed a practical electric car for my family. The car looks extremely dull, and has a very nasty, cheap and dark interior, but it looked practical. It is practical and meets the requirements of a family of four (two adults and two children). The range is acceptable (I have an early 53kWhr model) and it feels sprightly. It handles well enough for a dull family estate car.

Unfortunately, the car is extremely badly made and MG's warranty is worthless. I have had an awfully large number of faults with the car, including multiple rattles, frequently crashing infotainment system, unreliable Apple Car Play, lots of loose trim (including trim falling off the door), USB ports falling behind the dash, auto hold button sinking, etc. Amazingly, the glass in the driver's sun-visor has somehow cracked.

The car itself has also been rushed to market, and has multiple issues. An example of this is that it is easy to end up in gear when trying to leave but without the high voltage battery being connected.
The car will tell you you are in "Drive" but will not move. The car will also jump into park by itself if you are trying to drive in reverse without the driver's door being closed. The auto headlights are very slow to react and the infotainment system (when working) is extremely slow to respond. I also have an issue where the steering wheel mounted controls do not respond to button presses.

The pièce de résistance is that after just two and a half years and 22,970 miles, the accelerator pedal snapped off (thankfully in the work car park while stationary). This has never happened to me in over twenty years of driving. I took the car to MG and they have declined the warranty claim! A safety critical part has failed rendering the car un-drivable (and potentially very dangerous if I had been driving at the time) and MG refuse to acknowledge this or pay for the repair.

Absolutely shocking. Please do not buy this car. I now have no faith in the car and I am worried to use it with my family.
