Other Mitsubishi Colt (2004 - 2013) models:

  • Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

I am super thrifty and cost conscious but also that I do a lot of careful research before buying a car and also I like to be a bit of an individual and avoid the mainstream.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

One of my neighbours said he thought the Mitsubishi was a lot prettier than our last car!

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes. Great value for money and a really well designed and built car.

What are you likely to buy next?

I can't look that far ahead, we hope to keep the Mitsubishi for a long time.

  • Buying experience

    3 out of 5 3.0

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Didn't buy from a dealer

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £0

When did you buy the car?

    July 2012

Did you get a good deal and why?

We believe we got an excellent deal. Our car new would have been 11500, we paid 5050 and we got a year's warranty and 2 years servicing. Our car is 2 years old and has done 13000 miles.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

We wanted a car with lower running costs and the Mitsubishi costs us less on repayments, petrol, road tax and also servicing.

    What was the dealer like?

We bought the car from a private seller and he was not nice to deal with but I could see that the car was a real bargain so I pressed ahead with the sale despite the seller's rudeness.

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

The front pillars create a blind spot that you need to be aware of and the automatic transmission, whilst generally excellent, in some situations changes down to second or first unneccessarily, although you can override this. Apart from these issues I honestly can't fault the Colt's drive. The steering is accurate, the ride good, handling crisp. The Colt is definitely fun on a country road and it has ample power for acceleration, powerful brakes and is quiet on the move. It goes like a train on the motorway and will sit at 85 mph all day with the accurate cruise control engaged. A really nice drive on all types of road.

    What's it like to park?

Easy to park, but, like most cars you cannot see the bonnet from the driver's seat.

  • Living with it

    5 out of 5 5.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

The rear wiper is faulty but I will have it repaired under warranty.

What's most practical about your car?

Very easy to use doors and tailgate, and the split fold seats could not be easier to use.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

I love the cruise control, the leather steering wheel and the trip computer.
