In their own words

My first Nissan and last (whilst Renault are involved). Bought the car just under 2yrs old. Within months battery failure, common issue & replaced within warranty period - after much discussion. Next the car needed re-gassing, £150 (new gas type) for air conditioning - it only lasts between 2-3yrs. Months later it fails, new condenser & re gassing again £600, common problem though i was accused of having an accident?! Outside warranty, the DAB radio/info system keeps rebooting & switching off affecting everything. Months and months pass with arguments, software updates, removed/refurbished and more updates and finally fixed. Next problem oil loss from engine and judder when pulling off in first gear. Nissan & dealers didn't want know but grabbed lots of articles from the internet and sent it to head office to demonstrate common problem. They eventually replaced the whole engine (free) and I asked to check clutch at the same time. Engine was a reconditioned unit and clutch was apparently ok. Within months clutch/flywheel failure! I argued how it could be missed, so I paid parts and Nissan took care of labour. Seven months later (present day), I now have gearbox failure where 2nd gear grinds and difficult to put in! Nissan/dealers charge £3000 for reconditioned unit, not economically viable to fix - another common well known problem. The car has only done 40000 miles! There have been other issues like electrical glitches, key not being recognized, rattles from cabin, loud knocking noise from deep within dashboard, exhaust oxygen sensor, brake hose wear issue, timing chain rattle, etc. This car has always been serviced & cared by Nissan, otherwise they wouldn't even acknowledge me and all these issues are established faults covered on various websites/articles/forums. And now there is a lawsuit for emissions on these cars which I've joined.
