In their own words

I was 68 years old when my wife and I purchased this car. Frankly, it was the wrong one for us. Prior to this car, as part of our business, my wife and I were driving 20-25,000 miles per year, ploughing up and down the motorways and travelling abroad for our holidays. We owned a Peugeot 306 and a Honda Civic diesel, in which we droved respectively 220,000 and 160,000 miles, without too many problems. The Honda in particular was fantastically reliable and comfortable. When my wife decided it was time for me to retire, we decided to trade in the Honda for something 'nice' which we would keep for 3 or 4 years. Looking at reviews we picked the Seat Leon FR which had fantastic reviews and bought a 3 year old model with 24,000 miles on the clock. My wife loves the car, which has been 100% reliable since we bought it. However, for me the suspension and ride are much too hard, and the bucket seat is uncomfortable to the extent I have a variety of cushions and back-supports on the seat to avoid a numb left, clutch, leg. We have now decided to trade in the car at 34,000 miles for a 2 year old Kia Sportage 2, which has a softer suspension much more rubber on the tyres. In conclusion, the Seat Leon FR is an excellent car, but it is a young persons' car. It is not a car if you are looking for a comfortable ride.
