Other Skoda Fabia (2007 - 2014) models:

  • Summary

What does this car say about you?

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

After the inevitable jokes about Skoda everybody that has been out in the car has been really surprised. One of my friends has an Audi A4 and was surprised that this car has some better features.

Would you buy this car again and why?

If it wasn't for the fact I now need to get some major adaptations fitted (wheelchair hoist and a hydraulic seat that extends out of the vehicle for transfer for wheelchair to car seat) I would have ordered another one of these.

What are you likely to buy next?

My next vehicle is going to be a Renault Trafic 2.0TD SL27dCi 115 Sport.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Didn't buy from a dealer

Did you buy this car new?

    Yes

    What price did you pay?

    £0

When did you buy the car?

    December 2009

Did you get a good deal and why?

Got this car trough the Motability scheme, very small deposit required for this car compared to other makes of similar size.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Needed boot space for a wheelchair.

    What was the dealer like?

D M Keith in Leeds were very helpful, not pressured at all, even upgraded the model from a Fabia 1 to a Fabia 2 because the car we ordered originally had been ordered by someone else moments before. Kept us up to date for delivery, etc.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

This car is good to drive, you have really good all round vision with only a couple of small blind spots, the engine and gearbox are very responsive and if you put it in sports mode wow, have beaten some expensive sports cars from a standing start at traffic lights, it cruises along at 70 on the motorway fully loaded (5 passengers, 17 stone electric wheelchair etc in boot and a fully loaded 350 litre roofbox) with no problems and surprisingly quiet.

    What's it like to park?

The power steering and good all round vision you have in this car make it a doddle to park.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

Not had any problems with this car.

What's most practical about your car?

The boot space is really deceiving - I get an electric wheelchair and portable ramps in the boot along with 2 or 3 bags of shopping.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

One of the best features is the height adjustable front seats, makes it so easy for transfer of a disabled person from wheelchair to seat whether they are driving or travelling as a passenger.
