  • Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

    I have no idea.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

My wife really likes driving it. No idea what the neighbours think.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes, definitely. It feels a fine piece of machinery. Its great to drive. Insurance for myself and wife is only £280 fully comp with protected NCB. Drive it sensibly and you can get 35mpg, which is excellent for a reasonably powerful AWD car.

What are you likely to buy next?

    Another Subau.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchise

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £15,000

When did you buy the car?

    April 2007

Did you get a good deal and why?

Good deal. The car was a 'pre-registered' model on an '07 plate.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

I am an engineer and appreciate the good engineering evident in these cars. Reliable. Good roadholding. I like the style and size of the car. This car has the 160bhp non-turbo engine (low insurance and good fuel economy) and has most body and trim features of the WRX turbo models.

    What was the dealer like?

Fine, no problems. I paid the money and took the car.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Outstanding. 160bhp gives more than enough power for day to day driving and easily gives more than 33mpg in rural driving. The engine is very smooth and sounds great! The car around corners like they are not there. The best handling car I have owned. Clutch and brake action are good. Gearbox is a little stiff going into 5th gear.

    What's it like to park?

Average for this size of car - neither particularly easy nor difficult.

  • Living with it

    5 out of 5 5.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

No. The car feels very sold and well put together.

What's most practical about your car?

Comfortable front seats. Large boot for the class of car. Decent fuel economy.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The Subaru All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) really makes a difference to handling and road holding.
