What does this car say about you?

The badge may not be fashionable. This car should be judged on its merits and that makes me a discerning buyer. The car is big, comfortable and the performance on snow and ice is second to none. The downside maybe its so good you forget you are on a surface more suited to skis.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Nice car. Everybody likes riding in it. If you do a lot of round town driving expect to use a lot of fuel. This is not a city car. It is a superlative machine for longer distances.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes I would by another one. I was sad when I had to sell my 2 litre petrol Grand Vitara [review dated 14 November 2009] in 2011 due to recession. This car is so much better due to the superb engine which has more power and surprisingly more economical.

What are you likely to buy next?

Its sad that they are going out of production in 2015. Will anything match the quality and capability for price ?

I owned a Grand Vitara previously and wanted another one due to its size, quality and capabilities.

    What's it like to drive?

This car is a pleasure to drive due to the engine characteristics. I avoid using it around town. It mainly does long runs. On motorways or Highland roads it does between 33 and 36 mpg fully loaded, based on fuel purchased divided by miles travelled. The average mpg readout is reasonably accurate.

    What's it like to park?

Big mirrors make for good visibility which aids parking. Power steering very good. This is an easy car to drive.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

Nothing has gone wrong. I know these to be strong machines. Waxoyl the rear suspension sub frame for improved resistance to rust.

What's most practical about your car?

Size, comfort, permanent 4x4 drive train. Good fuel consumption if driven with respect.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The 2.4 litre Suzuki petrol engine is a delight to drive. Turbine smooth & lots of power.
