Other Vauxhall Corsa (2006 - 2014) models:

  • Summary

    1 out of 5 1.0

What does this car say about you?

The car says that we are idiots for purchasing a Vauxhall in the first place and for not reading up the on make and model before purchasing. Since the accident we have read other reviews listing the same faults.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Friends and family liked the look of the car initially but once they had a drive they where shocked by the complete lack of power the car had. Since the accident friends and family have been helping us to campaign against Vauxhall and have also stated that they shall not be purchasing a Vauxhall either.

Would you buy this car again and why?

I would never buy another Vauxhall again due to the complete lack of customer service and lack of compassion when a manufacturing fault resulted in our car being written off.

    Franchised

Did you buy this car new?

    Yes

    What price did you pay?

    £12,500

When did you buy the car?

    April 2014

Did you get a good deal and why?

We thought we had got a good deal but following recent events obviously not.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

We brought the car as it was meant to be good on fuel consumption, cheap on insurance and generally very economical.

    What was the dealer like?

Very friendly and helpful when buying. The aftercare service is non existent and a disgrace.

  • Driving it

    1 out of 5 1.0

    What's it like to drive?

The car was very slow and sluggish when pulling away. Did not have the guts to pull up hills etc. To make matters even worse the electrics cut out when driving which unfortunately for us resulted in an accident and the car being written off.

    What's it like to park?

Parking the car was fine due to the small size of the car. It has also been parked up for ten months due to not being able to be driven due to an electrical failure.

  • Living with it

    1 out of 5 1.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

The car was brought April, come June the ignition broke meaning all of the electrics where stuck on. Vauxhall fixed the ignition fault without any issues but did not provide any paper work to list the repairs carried out. December 2014 whilst travelling at 70mph on the motorway the electrics completely failed which resulted in the car cutting out. Since the accident Vauxhall have denied all liability and have refused to even look at the car, even though all of the safety features failed to go off when the car is a complete write off. Thankfully a traffic officer was behind and stated that before the accident all of the rear lights etc began to flash alerting him that something was wrong. Avoid Vauxhall like the plague!

What's most practical about your car?

There is nothing practical about this car when it has been sat for almost ten months unused and in a state beyond economical repair. Vauxhall then had the cheek to write to us to state that the life time warranty had collapsed due to not having the car serviced. We are also still having to pay off the finance whilst we fight our case with Vauxhall. Thankfully our case is very strong and has even featured in the Sunday People.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The heated seats and steering wheel was a perk in the colder weather but I wouldn't go out of my way to ensure that the next car I buy has the same features.
