Want to know everything there is to know about this car?

In their own words

For a daily commuter this has proven itself a very reliable car, as a family car it takes 2 adults and 2 teenagers with ease, it gets a bit snug in the back with three teenagers but can still manage 3 adults if you really needed to. Rear leg room is sufficient but not luxurious. I am 5’7” and my similar sized son with size 10 feet fits in behind the drivers seat when I am driving. The back seats only fold down, the bench part is fixed so not as roomy as competitors. Road noise especially when cornering ( there is a dry rubbing noise that neither any garage or myself can locate) one suggestion was that it could be to do with the front MacPherson struts being of a floating variety. Changing front headlight bulbs (a pretty common job) results in the removal of the whole headlight which is a pain in the derrière!!! Only use OEM bulbs.... yes they cost more but they do last longer and avoid the cut fingers which inadvertently happen from the removal debacle. The air conditioning and ventilation system is of a poor design, it takes in excess of 10 minutes in winter to demist the front screen, if it is icy then 20 minutes!!! Even then you have to keep it running at max speed and max temp!! I have several windscreen clothes and still struggle in mornings. The ventilation thermistor is also liable to failure!! In 4 years I have had to replace it twice already and it is another awkward job to do!! If you want an economical conmuter it shouldn’t be dismissed without a try

How reliable do you find the car?

Electrics showed an airbag fault, eventually tracked down to a collapsed seat back spring that had nicked the drivers seat airbag wire. After looking on various websites it is quite a common fault!!!

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

Bit rough and ready with regards to road and engine noise, rear seats aren’t suitable for long journeys, fuel economy is really good as long as you aren’t right foot happy, the little turbo is good from 1500 rpm to around 2750 rpm but it sits very happily at 70 mph in 5th and could cruise there all day. Boot space is sufficient for a weekly shop and fits a Phil and Teds 2 seater pushchair and still have the parcel shelf in place.
