Vauxhall Insignia Saloon 2009-

In their own words

Purchased at 44K and traded in at 152k (read 'turned off life support). Catalogue of issues with the car from the beginning (the dealership 2 year warranty more than paid for itself). I have had one other car which was a lemon from start to finish (BMW 318). This Insignia was far worse. I have spent some £2.5K in various repairs over four years - not including new cam belts and servicing, and not including the money spent by the dealership! My previous car, a Vauxhall Corsa, ran happily to 140K and was still going strong when I traded it in. Simply the most unreliable, thus costly, car I have ever owned - despite regular dealership care. My brother's 1.8 petrol SRI packed up some three months before mine at a measly 66K; like mine it was 'repaired' but still continued to have problems. When it runs, it drives well. Good power when you need it and nice extras. It's put me off Vauxhall for the foreseeable future.
