Vauxhall Omega Saloon 1994-

    Value

    4 out of 5 4.0

A fair old bit of car for the money, although I did pay a premium for it being dual fuel.

    Costs

    5 out of 5 5.0

Can't grumble here. I'm averaging an equivalent 63mpg for the LPG against petrol prices. I don't hang around either. My worst has been 55mpg and my best just over 80mpg. Now how many cars of this size can do that!! (Sorry for being an anorak!!)

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

A fairly confident drive as long as it isn't pushed too hard, it becomes a bit of a handful if you do.

    Performance

    3 out of 5 3.0

Well if you want something fast you don't buy a 2 litre Omega. I'd say it is more than sufficient for this size of car and will suit the majority of people.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    4 out of 5 4.0

A few niggles, power steering gets hard when warm on tickover, a few revs needed to help. Self levelling lights warning say faulty when there not. Brakes need care as they judder when abused, might be my driving style as this seems typ. to all my cars.

Average car and badge so average image. Although the 18"" alloys on mine do get me a second glance.

    Comfort

    5 out of 5 5.0

Excellent legroom & general space all round. Seats are armchair-like compared to mid-sized cars like mondeo/A4 etc. No aching backsides, neck or legs after being in the car all day which is exactly what you want. Plenty of toys to keep most people happy.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    4 out of 5 4.0

Good...apart from the deadlocks if your battery goes flat then you can't get in!! Vauxhall told me to break a window!! I got in by putting power to the alternator which enabled me to use key fob...sneaky eh?? Saved me 50 quid on a window.

    Service

    1 out of 5 1.0

Self service so can't comment. I got a quote of £165 for the service but the LPG service is an extra £250!!!

  • Problems and Ownership

    Problems

    Engine

Sweet as a nut after 107k....so far!!!

    Other

LPG to Petrol switchover via the dash button isn't as good as when I first got the car. The engine management light stays on for a while. Think I need an LPG service at £250!!! I think I can handle it as it's saved me 000's anyway in fuel costs!!!
