A big waste of money. VW do not live up to their reliable, go forever image any more.
Would you buy this car again and why?
No way, hosay. Very unreliable. Japanese cars beat them on this front now. The Golf as a car is starting to look like quite a bland, boring car now. Customer service is bad.

Did you get a good deal and why?
No. Talked into their HP deals. I suppose I should have done my homework better first. No discount given on car, and wouldn't accept my previous car as a trade in.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Wanted a reliable, well built car with a desirable image.

Pushy.

What's it like to drive?
Awful now it is 5 years old. Very slow acceleration in 2nd gear. I get so left behind. Handling isn't secure and not supportive.

Have you had any problems with the car?
YES! From the first year I had problems. Been pulled up at the side of the road or motorway 5 times in all. Computer in dash has broken down several times. It still isn't right. Car has leaked water into passenger side, for which a dealer could not get to the root of the problem despite costly charges. I eventually got it fixed at a local garage. No water tank is leaking and no-one can find out where the leak is coming from.
What's most practical about your car?
Not too big to fit into tight spaces. Cup holders are nice. Reasonably roomy back seat.

Seat height adjustment.
