Want to know everything there is to know about this car?

In their own words

Looks great, drives as one would expect for a crossover. Economy seems under par compared to my previous car (Mercedes E220 Diesel) which kid of surprised me. Comfortable and roomy enough for the class. Boot space isn't huge but the drop down split rear seats helps for larger cargos. The hidden space between boot floor and spare wheel is surprisingly room and a lot of ancillary stuff like warning triangles, safety lights and shopping bags easily fit here. Would love to see some real effort in the design and delivery of the digital interface, so much could be done to improve in this area. For instance I was surprised that there was no engine temperature gauge, which is useful to have to know when the heater might be effective. There are some displays that are mutually exclusive, driver performance and navigation for instance. As with most voice control systems the Volvo is hilarious to a point and then just downright irritating. Overall a good car that could be made a fantastic car with a software update!

How reliable do you find the car?

No mechanical problems encountered. The Sensus navigation/entertainment system has re-booted several times after setting of on a trip. All displays blank out whilst it reboots

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

There are a few areas where the Volvo could do better. 1) The turning circle seems very large in comparison to the overall length of the car 2) The usability of the navigation/entertainment system leaves a lot to be desired. For instance one cannot set "Eco" mode as a default and needs 4 presses of a button every trip 3) This is undeniably a digital car but there are big misses. Large map updates cant be installed over the network and need to be installed by USB key, one of the larger updates took over 3 days to install - that's not the current user expectation for a digital device. The car cannot connect to a WIFI network when parked, say in a drive which would be ideal to download large updates.
