Volvo XC40 review

Want to know everything there is to know about this car?

In their own words

I wanted to downsize but maintain the driving position and versatility of an SUV and shortlisted Audi, Mercedes, BMW and Volvo. The Mercedes got off to a shaky start with really poor service from sales staff at the dealership and BMW weren’t far behind although they did know about the upcoming plug in hybrid X1 which was interesting. But in the end it was Audi and Volvo that inspired my decision the most. They both scored well on quality of fit and finish and there was little to choose between the Audi Q3 and the Volvo XC40 but the Volvo finally won my wallet with its superior comfort and the option of a plug in version. Have I regretted my decision ? Absolutely not ! My Volvo is good to drive, supremely comfortable and very, very economical on short journeys where it runs mainly on pure electric. And the only downside for me is that the main dealer recommended for servicing is 200 miles and a ferry journey away but a few days in Perth once a year isn’t a hardship especially knowing that my Volvo will be getting a highly professional service.
