Other Citroën C4 (2004 - 2010) models:

  • Summary

    5 out of 5 5.0

What does this car say about you?

Not sure. Probably that I like affordable motoring, but want to stand out from the usual Focus and Astra brigade.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They like it, but keep reminding me it's french and not to moan if it breaks!!

Would you buy this car again and why?

Absolutely. I've steered clear of french cars recently, but this is fantastic. So much car for your pennies.

What are you likely to buy next?

Keeping this for as long as poss. Hopefully the new C4 due at the end of the year will be even better - please keep the striking looks though!

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £4,995

When did you buy the car?

    July 2010

Did you get a good deal and why?

I think so. Immaculate car and would have been £500 - £750 more elsewhere. Could have done better on the p/x side of things, but hard to bargain when plenty of other customers sniffing around the car!

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Ticked all the right boxes, - comfort, toys, economical, stands out from the usual Focus and Astra's out there.

    What was the dealer like?

    Excellent, can't complain.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

A breeze. Cruising on motorway at 75-80 and still below 3,000rpm. Visability excellent and so easy to park. However, steering is very light even on the motorway which can feel a bit dangerous. Also, clutch is set quite high, so in traffic its not the most comfortable. The VTR+ suspension and 17" wheels are also very hard at times - great for handling (sticks like glue), but on more bumpy roads can almost re-align your spine! In all though, wouldn't change it - its fantastic. This diesel engine is the best engine i've ever had. No turbo lag, so nippy around town and plenty of umph the motorway and still high 50's mpg.

    What's it like to park?

No problem at all. The large wheels, restrict the turning circle, but no real problem.

5 doors and very comfortable and spacious.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

So many to choose from - Cruise control is brill, as is climate control.
