In their own words

I like the space you get inside the car. I like the reverse camera. I do not like the reliability of the car and the quality of the parts fitted to the car. As I said my car has only done 31000 miles, in that time I have had to replace all four tyres, two full sets of brake pads front and rear and also had to replace all four brake discs!! During my last service I was informed that brake pads and discs were 60% worn and would need to be replaced again shortly. I was disgusted when I was told as its not cheap to replace them. The final straw came when the car was recalled for an electrical issue, Hyundai Cheshire Oaks had my car to carry out the recall. The car felt different when I was driving it back home but I couldn't put my finger on the issue. My wife and I went for lunch and when we returned to the car it wouldn't open. I used the key, thinking it was simply a dead battery in the remote control. I tried starting the car but had no response. I have my car because I am disabled, so thought I would check the fuses before calling RAC. Fuses were all fine but battery terminal was trailing in the engine bay. I contacted Hyundai who said drive it up and we'll take a look. I explained that I had only temporarily reconnected the battery but I would lose all power if the lead came off again. I spoke to the manager at Hyundai Cheshire Oaks and was told that they had completed around 40 recalls that day and he couldn't possibly quality assure each and every job done, I was flabbergasted. If this cable would have disconnected whilst I was driving I would have lost all engine power, brakes, steering and would not have been able to alert other road users of my issue meaning everyone in my car would have been put in harms way but the manager wasn't overly concerned. In my opinion, NOT the sort of service you would expect from a main dealer who is aware that the car is a disability car, very very poor service. I am currently in the process of returning the car as I have no confidence in the car or the service it receives.
