Want to know everything there is to know about this car?

In their own words

The Mk4 (ND) Mazda MX-5 should have been so good. This my third MX-5 over 11 years, but the many design and durability faults with this model have ensured that I will never buy another. Previous iterations of the MX-5 have enjoyed an almost "bullet-proof" reputation among owners and enthusiasts alike, but the Mk4 has been a litany of premature failures and complaints. Some failures are major and very expensive - eg, weak gearbox / failed rear suspension bearings / soft-top fouling on roll-hoops / window lift failure / thin, easily damaged paintwork - to name a few. Mazda have clearly been obsessive about saving weight and production costs.

How reliable do you find the car?

There are numerous design and durability problems with this model, as varified on many worldwide forums and my own experiences.

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

Sadly, the ownership experience has been spoiled by the various design and durability problems with this model.
