Want to know everything there is to know about this car?

In their own words

Pound for pound a brilliant little sports car that does what it says on the tin. No driving modes, no trick mag suspension, no tablet screen stuck on the dash, however does have the right level of tech onboard so you can nav, listen to your music via your phone whilst your seat warms you up in the mornings. The best thing in this BHP power race we currently live in, 70mph feels like 70mph back when the Mk1 was around and that is something rather refreshing and very rarely can you say for current production cars. Dealership experiences has been refreshingly pleasing compared to the premium garages from German brands, and prices that are not eye popping either. Reliability has been excellent, if you look pass the early release issues that were dealt with swiftly so they did not mar the ownership experience. The only thing to be mindful is that the MX5 MK4 (ND) is a small car, later cars with the fully adjustable steering column may suit some people better than others, so one to consider. Also passenger footwell is reduced if you have Bose installed, something to consider if you are frequently driving with a +1. For the dimensions of the car (which are great for B-Road driving) the boot is a good size and can handle a road trip baggage (with some restraint on what you pack) with ease. In summary, if you are in the market for a new or used reliable, fun, honest 2 seater sports car that has real world running costs, the MK5 is worth being on your list of cars to look at.

How reliable do you find the car?

Early gearbox issue and rubbing roof on rollover hoops, both Mazda acknowledged issues address swift with minimal fuss, how other manufactures should deal with known issues!

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

One of the best cars (top 3) I have owned in my 25 years of driving. Still puts a smile on my face every time I drive it and after 5 years of ownership that says it all!
