Mercedes-Benz GLA 250e review (2023)

In their own words

Didn’t have huge expectations as I was trading down in spec and size from my old GLC 220 D premium SUV. However the new 2021 GLA is a pleasant surprise and enjoyable to drive. Much better car than the old GLA model, which did seem to sell well though. I was moving away from a big diesel ,but couldn’t justify the cost of the hybrid version or EQA which don’t attract big discounts. The Sport Executive spec is pretty well specified and the engine /auto combination works well and is quiet ,smooth and reasonably responsive. If you want a sports car,buy a sports car!! I am very happy with my new car. Only negative is lower mpg although due to Covid haven’t done any long motorway trips yet. That is coming soon

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

Traded in a 4 year old 220D GLC AMG Premium 4matic Smaller car with less powerful petrol engine. Surprisingly good to drive despite only 1.3 L and only 7 speed auto. Quiet and pretty smooth and responsive. Much better than the old GLA which was not very SUV like. Easier to Get in and out of and roomier with better headroom and legroom. MBX display is v good and easy to get used to. All in all happy with purchase and enjoying driving it Sport executive GLA 200 petrol model was on enhanced offer deal at local dealership and got a great deal at the time .
