  • Summary

    5 out of 5 5.0

What does this car say about you?

Can't say I've ever really been concerned enough to think about it.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Most wonder what it is, but like it.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes. A few minor faults aside (4 in 69k miles and 4 years) it has been ultimately reliable and hasnt missed a beat.

What are you likely to buy next?

Same model but 3.0 ltr R. May consider Lexus IS or Honda Accord but the Legacy, thanks to not enough people knowing what it is, keeps prices attractive.

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

Its obviously not a small car, but capable for its size. Sports suspension is comfortable on all but the worst bumps. Equally at home on back roads as on the motorway where at 70mph the engine is doing 2800rpm. Very rarely need to change from 5th. Permanent 4wd means it isnt lightening quick (8.9 0-60 according to figures) but does get there smartly. Excellent to drive in all weathers but Potenza tyres (fitted as standard) are a must upon replacement.

    What's it like to park?

Quite easy to park - large mirrors and rear screen.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

    1. Dual-mass flywheel, a new component at time of this cars production, squeals when driven harshly. Replaced once under warranty but replacement does same. Annoying but never fails. 2. Readout for mpg goes off intermittently (£188 replacement) after 69K miles of use. One of a limited few common faults on this car. 3. One badly crimped wire stopped drivers seat height adjustment working. 4. Some rubbers on the steering required replacement upon acquisition of the car. Replaced under warranty.

What's most practical about your car?

    Comfy motorway cruiser

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

    Heated leather seats
